In 2012, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority initiated field, desktop (i.e. literature review), and modelling studies to inform the understanding of existing conditions at Roberts Bank. Building on available information, these studies were designed to address known data gaps, as well as issues and interests of Indigenous groups, stakeholders and the public, as well as to provide baseline information to assess project-related effects as part of the environmental assessment.
