In 2012 and 2013, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority established four Technical Advisory Groups to gather expert advice regarding key environmental components in the Roberts Bank ecosystem. The purpose of the Technical Advisory Groups was to improve the quality and completeness of studies and information submitted as part of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project environmental assessment by having experts review existing information and field study work plans, identify priority information needs and appropriate methods of impact assessment, and make recommendations to the port authority.

Technical Advisory Groups consisted of experts from within regulatory agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and consultants retained by the port authority, with specialized knowledge about each topic.

Terms of Reference were established for the Technical Advisory Groups, and input received from Technical Advisory Group participants is summarized in the following reports:
